Every article is written by different people, and can't be edited by anyone but the author.
It put emphasize on the author, I think that's important. It's like blog post, it gets comments and people always love comments.
I always believe there should be more encyclopedia like wikipedia. Knol is useful when you want to know how to backpack. Wikipedia tells you what is backpack.
It may be a closer step for Google's mission " to organize the world's information and make it universally accessible and useful."

Lilei and Hanmeimei |
Lilei and Hanmeimei become popular overnight , I searched it on wikipedia, no results returned.
So ,I'd like to write something about it.
They are characters of the English text books once used by millions of Chinese students,along with them ,there are Leifeng ,Luxun, and many other moral models.
Then why did these ordinary characters become popular? I guess it's because we like ordinary people ,we like something we are familiar with. We like them because they taught us how to use English, and they were the same school kids as we were.
I've been learning politics from my childhood ,but I can't remember what I have learnt ,I just remember there is a guy named Max ,maxisim is great ,our government is great.So the conclusion is Hanmeimei's influence is much greater than Max , however ,if you don't believe it , you can check the price of T-shirt printed with Max and Hanmeimei.
The internet made them unattractive to young Chinese students who watch western TV serials,like Friends, to learn English, but it make Hanmeimei popular again among those elder ones.
It's more than nostalgia.

我与firefox不得不说的一些事 |
firefox3.0前不久发布的，就算从来没听过firefox这玩意的人估计也知道了有这么个东西。
这东西的意义在于开源和开放，很多操作系统下都可以使用，因为开放，有全世界的程序员为其开发应用（扩展，主题）。3.0发布的两天内，1000多万人下载了这个浏览器，或者说，地球上差不多每50个人就有一个人用firefox上网，我从05年开始用到现在，有不少心得，也有不少辛酸。细节就不多说了，只推荐几个firefox的扩展。关于firefox的扩展介绍太TMD多了，为啥我要来凑热闹呢？
网上的关于firefox扩展的介绍太泛滥，很多扩展我觉得不是十分有必要，下面的1-5是我现在浏览器用的扩展。
1.read it later扩展
把稍后阅读功能做到极致，打开一个新闻网站的主页，发现有很多文章要阅读，一个个点开，看一个关掉一个，如果用没有标签页的浏览器，肯定眼花缭乱，即使有标签页也不见得轻松，有了read it later后进入click to save模式，然后把要看的每一个标题直接点一下就收藏到了read it later的文件夹，如果需要离线查看，点一下离线查看，这些页面就会下载下来供没有网络的时候看。
2.copy link name
复制一个链接的名称你会怎么做？
选中。然后复制？ 太落后了，firefox的copy link name扩展可以让你直接右键点链接然后复制链接的文字，这个小功能很实用很实用，但其他浏览器都没有
3.leechblock
如果觉得上网太浪费时间，如果你管不住自己，用这个扩展会很有必要
设置你在哪个时间段不能访问哪些网站
例如，设置邮箱的固定查看时间，设置不能上豆瓣或是校内这类社交网站的时间段或是干脆禁止晚上10点到11点以外的时间无法访问任何网站
4.最轻巧翻译扩展gtranslate
直接调用Google translate的结果，几十种语言相互翻译，只需你选中要翻译的文字，然后就可以在右键中选择翻译语言并实时查看到翻译结果，虽然Google 翻译很烂，但偶尔还是很有用处的，不是吗？
5.最实用最强大的查资料用扩展hyperwords
就同gtranslate一样，好的翻译软件不是因为自己有很牛逼的词库，而是善于调用其他已经很牛逼的数据，有了hyperwords，选中这篇文章任何一个你感兴趣的扩展，然后右键-->search-->Google top results，不需要点击，轻轻移动一下鼠标就可以看到这东西在google上的搜索结果的第一页的网站，当然，flickr图片（例：国家大剧院），wikipedia解释（例：wenchuan earthquake），youtube视频（例：earth song）啥的都在鼠标轻轻移动间
6.piclens（选装）
将浏览器变为3D视频浏览器和图片查看器，点一下进入piclens，进入discovery，按类别全屏查看各大新闻网站的图片新闻，3D图片墙的效果很惊艳，比看煎蛋要舒服，所谓看图了解天下事，不光有图还有视屏，youtube，CNN啥的..此外浏览haokanbu，flickr，facebook相册等支持piclens的网站时，可以通过3D图片墙的方式查看这些网站的图片，试一下你就知道有多炫。这扩展已经是firefox下载量最大的几个扩展了
7.让你彻底摆脱鼠标的vimperator（选装）
对于笔记本用户很实用，对于geek型用户，这个是炫耀的资本
对于很烦别人用你电脑的用户，这个可以让让别人打开你的浏览器后找不着北
装好后，浏览器成为一个只有标题栏和底下vi式命令行的窗口，就靠着键盘左边的一些字母和ctrl+alt键来轻松惬意地浏览网站，如果想尝试 先记住esc键很实用，觉得不对了就按一下，F1可以看帮助，输：进入命令，hjkl键是上下左右，d是关闭标签页，:o firefox代表用你搜索栏默认搜索引擎来搜索firefox，:t douban.com代表在新标签页打开豆瓣，这东西是模拟vi的，vi的使用可以写很多教程，这个也不例外，基本上只能看到英文的一些详细的资料,所以装好后有的好折腾。。
8.greasemonkey+platypus（选装）
用这个来改造网站，在校内不能屏蔽用户涂鸦板之前，我用的这个....在豆瓣改版后让我觉得不爽时，我也用的这个。基本上可以把大多数网站弄成你想弄成的样子，不需要你懂网页代码，就像那一把剪刀修剪一样弄掉网站上觉得不爽的地方，然后将修改保存为greasemonkey脚本，通过greasemonkey实现网页按你的需要显示
附送firefox终极技巧：
1.你应该安装portable edition也就是移动版,所有配置，用户文件，扩展都在同一个文件夹，放到自认为最安全的地方就可以了，可以减少很多麻烦，方便转移到任何其他电脑，也可以直接在U盘里面使用，而且各种配置基本上不会丢失，用firefox1.0的时候，我电脑上的window分区重装过几次，每次firefox重新安好后得重新装一遍扩展...后来，我用了portable edition，我现在正在打字的浏览器的配置和两年前firefox2.0发布的时候基本上一样的
2.不要相信任何鼓吹firefox技巧的文章，包括这篇，都是扯淡
firefox的使用仁者见仁智者见智，自己用的合适就好
3.浏览器是用来用的，不是用来专门研究的
毕竟你不是开发浏览器的，只是用这个来上网
所以不要在浏览器上花太多时间钻研
